About this aircraft

The HondaJet Elite is the only very-light jet with over-the-wing engine mounts, a configuration that frees the cabin from engine intrusion and noise. Range and speed both at the top of the VLJ class. Most charter operators run two pilots even though the aircraft is single-pilot certified — better for international clearance. The cabin seats four in comfort plus a fifth on the lavatory bench seat. Typical mission: a Zürich morning, a Côte d'Azur lunch, home by dinner.

Highlights

  • Fastest VLJ in production (Mach 0.72)
  • Over-the-wing engines — quietest cabin in class
  • Range covers most of Europe non-stop
  • Lavatory enclosed (rare for VLJ class)
  • Single-pilot certified

Typical routes

Where the office books this aircraft.

Geneva → Saint-Tropez (La Môle)

50min

300 nm · Summer (May–Sep)

Short 50-minute hop to La Môle (LFTZ), the airport closest to Saint-Tropez. The runway is short and restricted — most peer light jets cannot land here, so the Pilatus PC-24 or a VLJ is the right call.

Zürich → Saint-Tropez (La Môle)

1h 15min

500 nm · Summer (May–Sep)

Same La Môle runway restrictions apply — VLJs or the Pilatus PC-24 only. The HondaJet Elite is a favourite on this leg.

Zürich → St. Moritz (Samedan)

30min

100 nm · Winter (Dec–Mar)

LSZS Samedan is Europe's highest-elevation airport (5,600 ft) — performance requirements limit the aircraft list significantly. Pilatus PC-24 is the Swiss member's choice; many heavy jets cannot land here.

Zürich → Courchevel

35min

150 nm · Winter (Dec–Mar)

LFLJ Courchevel is the famous short-runway 'altiport' — only specifically rated pilots can land here, and only on certified VLJs. Most members instead fly to Chambéry (LFLB) and helicopter the last 15 minutes.
