Crewed Yacht Charter in Ibiza

Every Aurelius charter is fully crewed. Guests do nothing operationally — the day runs around your preferences.

At a glance

Crewed yacht charter in Ibiza through Aurelius Society means every booking includes the full professional crew — captain and mate on smaller yachts, plus stewardess and chef on yachts 20 metres and over. Guests do not operate the vessel, anchor, cook or clean. The crew of two to six is briefed individually on guest names, dietary requirements and the day's preferences before embarkation. There is no bareboat or skipper-only option in the Aurelius fleet.

There is no bareboat option in the fleet. Every yacht — from the 21-foot RIB to the 35-metre Benetti — sails with a professional crew. On day charters that means at minimum a skipper (often with a stewardess on 15m+). On multi-day charters, the crew scales to the vessel: two crew on a 20m, three to four on a 25m, six on the 35m flagship.

The crew is the day. A briefed, calm, near-invisible team is what separates a memorable charter from an indifferent one. We work with captains and stewardesses who have been with the same vessels for multiple seasons.

Questions we hear

Most-asked.

What crew comes with a chartered yacht?+

On day charters: captain (often with a stewardess on 15m+). Multi-day charters scale with vessel size: 2 crew on a 20m, 3–4 on a 25m, 6 on a 35m. Larger superyachts include captain, mate, stewardess(es), chef, bosun and engineer.

Do I need any sailing or boating experience?+

None. The captain handles navigation and anchoring; the crew handles everything else. Guests are passengers — the day runs around your preferences entirely.

Is the chef included in the charter rate?+

The chef's salary is included in the base rate on yachts 20 metres and over. The provisioning (food itself) is billed via the APA — typically €60–€90 per guest per day for a full menu.

How much do you tip the crew on a yacht charter?+

Industry standard is 10–15% of the base charter rate (not APA), distributed by the captain. For exceptional service, 20% is generous. Below 10% reads as ungenerous to a crew that depends on tips.

Are crew briefings included?+

Yes — the office sends a guest brief to the captain and stewardess 7 days before the charter covering names, dietary requirements, drink preferences, allergies and any special occasions. No question is asked at the table that hasn't already been planned for.

Can the same crew be requested for repeat charters?+

Yes — and frequently is. Captains and stewardesses are with the same vessel through the season; when members charter the same boat again the office holds the crew assignment to the same team.
