The Half-Day Yacht Charter Ibiza: When Four Hours Is Enough

The standard yacht-charter day in Ibiza is eight hours. The default offer is "10:00 to 18:00". Many weeks, that is exactly the right shape. Some weeks, it's overkill — the guests are coming off a long flight, the brief is a sunset and a meal, and the eight hours becomes pressure to fill rather than enjoy.

The half-day yacht charter is the under-asked alternative. Four hours instead of eight, roughly 55 – 65 % of the day rate. Here is how the office uses it.

The four-hour windows we use

Sunset (17:00 – 21:00)

Cast off at 17:00, anchor off Cala d'Hort or Cala Conta by 18:30, sundowner at 19:30, return to marina by 21:00. Right for couples, small groups (2 – 6), the arrival day of a longer trip.

Lunch + post-swim (11:00 – 15:00)

Marina cast-off at 11:00, anchor for swim at 12:00, lunch aboard or to a boat-accessed restaurant by 13:00, back to the marina by 15:00. Right for guests with a 19:00 dinner on land that night.

Morning ride (08:00 – 12:00)

Rare but excellent — glass water, no wind, no crowds. Two hours of running, two hours at anchor, back for lunch ashore. Right for keen sailors and family days with kids who nap in the afternoon.

What you don't get with half-day

• Formentera. A real Formentera day needs 7 hours; four is enough to see it from the water, not to anchor and lunch ashore.
• A chef sit-down. Half-day catering is cold platters, cheese, fruit. Full lunch service needs 6 hours+.
• The crew at full energy on day six. Half-day rates also mean half-day fee for crew tips — make this clear at quote time.

The pricing structure

Most owners quote 55 – 65 % of the day rate for a four-hour half-day. Fuel is metered (not a fixed half) so a sunset trip with little running burns less than a morning ride. On a 13m sport boat, expect €1,100 – €1,800 plus fuel.
