Ibiza Marina-to-Marina Helicopter: When It Makes Sense

The helicopter, in Ibiza, is the connector that turns three logistic problems into single fifteen-minute flights. Mallorca to Ibiza in 18 minutes (against three hours by ferry); Marina Botafoc to Talamanca in three (against thirty by car in August); Ibiza Airport to Cap Martinet villa in five (against forty in traffic). For specific cases, the cost reads back differently than the headline number.

The standard routes

Mallorca ↔ Ibiza

18 – 22 minutes flight. €2,800 – €4,200 per leg for a 4 – 5 passenger helo (typically AS355 or AW109). Replaces a 3-hour ferry or a 30-minute Air Nostrum flight (which has check-in 90 minutes ahead).

Ibiza Airport ↔ Cap Martinet / Roca Llisa / Talamanca

5 – 8 minutes. €1,400 – €1,800 per leg. Useful when private-jet timing is tight or villa is coastal with helipad clearance.

Marina-to-Marina

For yacht repositioning during a charter — move guests from Marina Ibiza to Cala Bassa (where the yacht waits) in 4 minutes. Avoids a 35-minute tender from the home marina.

When it makes sense

• Tight private-jet connection (under 90 minutes between landing and yacht cast-off)
• Mallorca residence with regular Ibiza days — the helicopter beats two hours each way by ferry
• Late-night arrival when ferry / car options are poor
• Medical or family emergency where minutes matter

When it doesn't

• Standard arrival, daytime, comfortable margin — the driver is fine
• Family with small children — most kids find the helicopter loud and unsettling
• Bad weather (low cloud below 800 ft cancels; high cross-wind cancels)
