Ibiza Weather Year-Round, with the Charter Implications

·5 min read·Aurelius Society

Direct answer

May–October is reliable swimming weather. June and September are the comfort sweet spot. August is hot, busy, and full programming. October's first two weeks still work; after the 15th the weather becomes unpredictable.

The Ibiza charter season hinges on four variables: air temperature, water temperature, prevailing wind, and rainfall. The heatmap below shows the first three at a glance.

Wind patterns

Ibiza is a Mediterranean climate with three dominant wind patterns: the Tramuntana (cold, from the north — rare in summer), the Ponent (warm, from the west — common July–August afternoons, makes Es Vedrà choppy), and the Llevant (warm, from the east — pushes swell into Tagomago).

The August reality

Air 30°C+, water 26°C. Sounds perfect. The reality is that the most popular anchorages have 10–20 other yachts by midday. Beach clubs are full from 11. Marina rates double. Pricing on top-tier yachts runs 50–70% above June. Plan early starts (09:30 departures) and pre-booked cabanas.

The September secret

Water at its warmest (26°C peak). Air comfortable (26–28°C). Crowds drop sharply after the first week. Pricing back to June levels by mid-month. This is when our repeat clients book.
