Ibiza Villa Security Reality: Gates, CCTV, Safes, Night Staff
Skip ahead — the office handles the rest
Ibiza is statistically a safe island — burglary rate below the Spanish national average, organised crime virtually absent, the local Guardia Civil responsive. Inside a luxury villa, the security questions worth asking are usually less about safety and more about privacy. Below is what is standard, what comes by request, and what is over-spec for the typical guest.
What every villa we work with has
- Perimeter gate (electric, with intercom to the main house and the staff quarters)
- Front-door deadbolt and a secondary chain
- Pool fence or alarm (legal requirement on rentals with children)
- Wi-Fi-connected smoke detection
- Standard insurance against tenant accidents
Standard at higher tier
- CCTV at the gate and pool area (footage on a 14- day rotation, not monitored by anyone)
- Combination safe in master suite (typical capacity for two laptops, jewellery and €5k cash)
- Walk-in safe or vault room — rare, in larger estates (Casa Vella, Pura Playa)
- Alarm system tied to the local rapid-response partner (15 – 25 minute response time)
On-request additions
Night security guard
€350 – €600 per night for a single guard on the property from 22:00 – 07:00. Two-guard rotation for larger properties. Discrete; uniform optional. We source from a shortlist of three vetted security firms.
Close protection
For high-profile family principals or political-exposed guests. Two-person CP team, 24/7 rotation, the brief extends to off-property movements (the yacht day, the dinner ashore). €2,400 – €4,000 per day, all-in.
Cash transport
Armoured-car cash delivery for large-event nights. Booked via the office, coordinated with the bank.
What is over-spec for the typical week
For a family week with no public profile, the standard gate-and-safe setup is sufficient. Night security is almost never needed (the island sleeps; the gate is closed). What matters more than physical security is discretion — staff vetting, NDA on the workforce, no social media of guests.
What you should still bring
- Personal cyber: VPN, encrypted phone backups, two-factor on accounts.
- Document copies in the cloud separately from the physical passport.
- Wire-fraud awareness: the office never asks for payment to a new account by email. Any change in banking instructions is confirmed by phone.
What we routinely do for high-profile clients
- Phone-direct booking — no booking trail through email aggregators
- Staff NDA before key handover
- Pre-cleared neighbour list (for any drone or video work)
- Off-island contingency plan: vetted helicopter extraction route, vetted medical evacuation
For the standard luxury week: gate, safe, common sense. Speak to the office if you need more.
