Pet-Friendly Villas in Ibiza: The Real Short-List

"Pet-friendly" means different things across luxury villa portfolios. Some properties accept dogs unconditionally; others accept on case-by-case approval; others advertise pet-friendly but in practice it means "a small dog, on a leash, only outside the main house." Here is what is real in our Ibiza portfolio.

Truly dog-friendly properties

Roughly 30 of our 98 villas accept dogs without conditions. Selection criteria from the office:

• Country-house format (not minimalist modern with white linen sofas)
• Fenced grounds (essential for any dog off-leash; Ibiza has wild cats and the occasional snake)
• Tile or stone floors (carpet runs become a problem)
• Garden space with shade (Ibiza heat is brutal at midday for dogs)

Examples in the portfolio: Villa Sant Jordi (Ibicencan country house, 90m² pool, fenced), Can Furnet 2 (modern but fully fenced, hilltop garden).

The case-by-case properties

Another 25 villas require approval based on the dog. The owner cares about specifics: breed, size, age, training (housebroken? furniture-trained?), and the deposit increase (typically +€2,000 against fur, scratches and accidents).

The properties that aren't suitable

High-end designer villas with white minimalist interiors, museum-quality art, or unfenced cliffside drops. These properties refuse pets; we don't push them.

The practical setup

• Vet contact:The office pre-shares a vet contact on arrival. Most common: Veterinaria Cas Costas (Sant Josep), 24/7 emergency.
• Dog walker:Available on day-rate (€35 – €50 per walk, two walks/day standard). Pre-arranged via concierge.
• Beach rules:Most Ibiza beaches are not dog-permitted in summer. Cala d'en Serra (north coast) and Cala Llonga after 19:00 are exceptions. Cala Conta is patrolled.
• Yacht rules:Most charter yachts accept dogs case-by-case; small dogs are easier. Pre-clear with the owner.

Travel paperwork

EU pet passport, microchip, current rabies vaccination (more than 21 days, less than 1 year). For Switzerland, UK, US — additional health certificate within 10 days of travel. The office coordinates with your vet at home; allow 30 days for first-time travel.
