ubai operates on the inverse season of Europe — November through March is the prime window, with daily temperatures of 22-28°C, dry-warm evenings, and the sea calm enough for full-day charter. Europe's winter migration brings repeat members from Geneva, Zurich, London and Monaco to the city for two-week winter escapes. The summer (May to October) hits 42°C+; only short-stay business visitors come through, and yacht charter shifts to evening-only.

Dubai Marina is the operating base. Aurelius runs a direct fleet of four motoryachts berthed at Pier 7 Marina and Bulgari Yacht Club, with day-charter and multi-day programmes year-round. Routes typically run the Palm Jumeirah and the Atlantis breakwater for the afternoon, then a sundown anchorage off the World Islands and dinner back at the Marina.

Two jet airports: Dubai International (DXB) for commercial and lighter private movements, and Al Maktoum / Dubai World Central (DWC, OMDW) for the dedicated business-aviation operation in Jebel Ali. DWC is now the default for private charter — quieter, faster ground-side, helicopter transfer to the Marina in ten minutes.

At Dubai

Specifics the office knows.

The hotel that opens allocations in March, the airport with the short runway, the harbour that fills by 09:00.

  • 01

    Dubai Marina day-charter

The day pattern: depart Pier 7 at 11:00, run the Palm Jumeirah perimeter, lunch on board at anchor off the Atlantis breakwater, swim, run back via the Marina canals at sundown. The Aurelius direct-fleet boats range 25m–40m; the lunch chef is included with the day charter.

  • 02

    Bulgari Resort & Yacht Club

Marasi Bay's defining property — the only hotel on its own private island in Jebel Ali Bay, with the Bulgari yacht club berths in front. Sea-facing villas with private pools; the Hoseki restaurant for the in-hotel dinner. The yacht-club berths host visiting boats for the night.

  • 03

Atlantis The Royal — Nobu Dubai

The 2023 Royal tower at the tip of Palm Jumeirah — Nobu Atlantis on the 23rd floor, with the city's most panoramic dining-room view of the Burj Khalifa skyline. The hotel's Cloud 22 rooftop pool is the in-hotel sundown room.

  • 04

    World Islands sundown

Four kilometres offshore from the Jumeirah coast, the World Islands archipelago is the calmest sundown anchorage in the emirate — flat water, no jet-ski traffic, the city skyline twenty minutes back. The Aurelius office books the yacht in for an early-evening anchor stop with dinner served as the city lights come up.

  • 05

    Burj Al Arab Royal Suite

The hotel's two-floor Royal Suite — Arabic four-poster bed, in-suite cinema, private elevator — is the city's defining hospitality address. Three-month lead time for December–February; the office holds standing relationships for guest of partner-yacht referrals.

Short answer

If you are reading this briefly.

Dubai operates on the inverse season of Europe: November through March is the prime window with daily temperatures of 22–28°C, while summer (May–October) reaches 42°C+ and yacht operation shifts to evening-only. Aurelius Society runs a direct fleet of four motoryachts at Dubai Marina (Pier 7 and Bulgari Yacht Club) — one of only four global locations with direct-fleet ownership. Two jet airports serve private charter: Al Maktoum (DWC, OMDW) is the default business-aviation gateway in Jebel Ali with ten-minute helicopter to the Marina, while Dubai International (DXB) handles lighter movements via the GA terminal. The Burj Al Arab Royal Suite, Bulgari Resort and Atlantis The Royal are the defining hotel addresses. From Zurich and Geneva, Dubai is a 6h30 non-stop on Falcon 7X or Global 5000/6000.

Questions we hear

Dubai — answered.

Why is DWC the default for private charter?+

Al Maktoum (DWC, OMDW) is the dedicated business-aviation airport in Jebel Ali — faster ground-side handling, no commercial traffic congestion, ten-minute helicopter to Dubai Marina via Falcon Aviation. DXB remains an option but the GA terminal experience is slower and the chauffeur transfer is twenty-five minutes minimum.

Can we fly Zurich–Dubai non-stop?+

Yes, in a Falcon 7X, Global 5000/6000, G550 or G650. The leg is around 6h30 at typical winds; both Geneva and Zurich are well-served for non-stop charter to either DWC or DXB. The Aurelius office runs the dispatch from London, Milan, Munich, Zurich.

Is yacht charter available in summer?+

Yes, but evening-only. May through September daily temperatures hit 38-44°C and full-day operation is uncomfortable. The summer pattern is a 17:00 departure, sundown anchorage off the World Islands or the Palm, dinner on board, return by 23:00. We continue to operate the direct fleet through summer.

Can we anchor overnight in Dubai waters?+

Yes, with prior coastal authority filing — the Aurelius office handles the paperwork. The typical overnight anchorages are off the World Islands or in the shelter of the Palm Jumeirah breakwater. Coastal authority requires 48-hour advance notification for overnight stays.

When is the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 race?+

Last weekend of November or first weekend of December — Yas Marina circuit, the season closer. Ninety minutes by car from Dubai Marina; the office arranges Yas Marina paddock-club access and the Etihad-side hotel allocations. Many members combine the race weekend with a Dubai stay.

What's the dress code for the Marina restaurants?+

Smart-casual at minimum across Pier 7 and Bluewaters; cocktail at COYA, Zuma DIFC and the Bulgari Resort. Daytime yacht charter is shorts/swim; evening dinners ashore are jacket-optional but trousered. The office advises on dress in the trip itinerary.
